Our History

SIS Inspections (formerly Socotec) was established in 1992 in response to a massive regional drought in Southern Africa. This drought necessitated the importation of more than 8 million tonnes of food  and other products which had to be  to be distributed into the region under difficult conditions.

From this base, SIS Inspections has grown organically and expanded its range of professional services. This was in response to growing demand from a range of industries and a more diverse client base. They are focused  on an ethic built on quality, reliability and integrity.

For more than 2 decades now, SIS has delivered this same broad range of inspection services. They meet and exceed international quality standards and are at the forefront of innovative service provision in the region.

Their client base is international and diverse. It includes governments, financial institutions, private and public companies, trading companies and the energy sector.

SIS also assists with import/export, transport and the  NGO/donor community.

The SIS Group employs approximately 500 people across 20 different  countries in Southern and Eastern Africa.
